As someone who has been involved in dog rescue/rehabilitation since 2001 I am forced to comment on this story.

 1)  There is probably no dog in the world LESS LIKELY to be aggressive that a Lab/Golden mix.

2)  It is hard to see clearly due to the low light video, however judging from the angle of the dog's back, it appears that when this LEASHED dog is jerked backwards by the owner being thrown to the ground by the officers, the dog tries to SIT, as many dogs are TRAINED to do when they feel the leash tighten.  This dog did not in any way appear to be acting in an aggressive or threatening manner toward the officers.

Though I was not there that night I can't help thinking of that old saying that states "those who are guilty of a crime are the first to point a finger at the innocent."

Lawful Americans should fear being shot by police when they read news stories like this: Police (executing) without probable cause a friendly family dog in front of the owner. Increasingly there are reports of police shooting a family dog without cause.  It appears some police (get off) killing the family pet.

Have you noted the growing spike in police—shootings of unarmed Citizens? Last October 4th The New York Times reported “Police Fatally Shoot an Unarmed Driver on the Grand Central Parkway.” According to the story, witnesses allegedly reported that a New York police detective pulled-over a National Guardsman, Noel Polanco for cutting off two police trucks on the Grand Central Parkway in Queens. The detective shot and killed the driver while his hands were on the steering wheel of his Honda. No weapon was found. Apparently officers “swarmed” the car, yelled for the three people inside the car to put their hands up, but the driver, Noel Polanco whose hands were still on the steering wheel—had no time to comply was shot. According to the NYT Story, police involved in the shooting did not immediately provide an explanation for shooting the unarmed driver; police later made incidental mention of finding a power drill on the floor of the driver’s car. Other Shooting Victims: The following are police explanations extracted from news reports why police...shot unarmed Citizens. It would appear under broad guidelines of many cities and states, police may claim—almost any imagined or actual physical act or non-compliance by a stopped individual—posed an imminent threat to an officer(s)' life to warrant killing them. For example this can happen to anyone: Police within two or three seconds give contradicting orders confusing a suspect—police shoot the suspect stating suspect did not respond. A stopped suspect may be shot no matter how hard suspect tries to comply. Police in banana republics have been reported purposely giving stopped suspects conflicting commands so  police can shoot them; it is often not possible to determine if police were executing a lawful stop or planned assassination. In Northern Ireland during the 1990's it was reported that British Soldiers waved persons though checkpoints then machine-gunned them claiming they failed to stop.

If pulled-over by U.S. police, reaching toward your glove compartment for your registration after the officer asks for it, could justify police shooting you. Police can simply claim you reached without the officer’s permission—that the officer feared for his life. Recently it was reported after police pulled over an unarmed driver, police shot the driver dead because they allegedly feared the vehicle could assault them despite the vehicle’s engine was turned off. Another report stated that after two police cars pulled over an unarmed driver (after police wedged in the driver’s car) so it could not go anywhere, police shot the driver because they allegedly feared being assaulted by the vehicle.  If you are pulled over by police, be sure to park your vehicle at an angle that police can’t easily claim posed an opportunity to threaten an officer’s life.

Federal Government has been militarizing, training local police to act like soldiers, not community police. U.S. Government intends to establish a National Police Force that will include (armed forces' personnel) with state and local police. That is against the Constitution. Expect more shootings of unarmed Civilians and family pets, consistent with increased military involvement in local and state police.
