Why would The Department of Homeland Security meddle in the operations of an independent educational institution under the guise of "safety", when that very government agency continuously characterizes Catholic conservatives as dangerous extremists? These are some questions which must be answered in the wake of some startling newly-discovered information.

 

A Parish bulletin insert highlighting "Catholic Schools Week 2013" has revealed that Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Dubuque, Iowa are "Working with resources from Iowa Homeland Security" and "local law enforcement" under the pretext of "ensuring that students and staff are safe at school." The January 27, 2013 bulletin from St. Jude Parish in Cedar Rapids, Iowa outlines the benefits of a parochial school education and also includes a message from Bishop Jerome Hanus, OSB, Archbishop of Dubuque.
