WEDNESDAY 12-2 Is of our most primary concern. Showing a huge presence during those hours are the goal.

We are keeping a weekly presence for as long as we can. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Let's show them the consumer end that they want to hear!!

Most Recent Draft: http://1.usa.gov/YZw4Xt

Most Recent Meeting: http://bit.ly/104ZtKT

Primary concerns -

1. While it is stated that women can provide midwives with written refusal for routine tests and procedures, it is not specified that she can do so without being forced to discontinue midwifery care. (Right of refusal all patients should have with any care provider.)

2. Screening, such as ultrasound weight estimates, do not specify that a mother can provide written refusal.

3. Vaginal exams (Human right to chose what may enter their body)

4. Midwives no longer have the authorization to carry medications important for managing complications postpartum (i.e. pitocin for bleeding)

5. Midwives are being required to report to medical providers in situations where the likelihood of "expected outcome of pregnancy, determined through physical assessment and review of the obstetrical history, shall most likely be that of a healthy woman giving birth to a healthy newborn and expelling an intact placenta" is not improved.
