Goodyear replacing blimps with futuristic new zeppelins

• dvice.com
The airship is a constant presence, a reminder of the tire manufacturer's dedication to lightweight air vehicles and one of its best sources of advertising. However, that sight is about to change. Soon, instead of the familiar blimp, you'll be seeing a zeppelin sporting the Goodyear logo floating through the skies.

Although it's been nearly 70 years since Goodyear-Zeppelin split up, it seems that the two companies are once again partnering on a new airship, a version of the Zeppelin NT. Designed by German manufacturer ZLT Zeppelin Luftschifftechnik, these zeppelins are being built in the U.S. in Ohio at Wingfoot Lake Hanger. This is the first airship of its kind to ever be built there, and these airships will be the only ones of their kind in North America.
