Professor Rahinah Ibrahim has become the first person to successfully remove their name from a government no-fly list. In 2005 Ibrahim was detained and questioned for two hours at San Francisco International Airport after being told she was on a watch list for suspected ties to terrorism. In a sealed, secret court proceeding U.S. District Judge William Alsup told the government to remove her name from the list. The judge will unseal a judicial order that will reveal whether Ibrahim is currently still on the watch list. Currently the government does not publicly acknowledge the existence of the list.
