This innovation comes at a crucial time, as GPS vulnerability to jamming and spoofing has become a significant concern, particularly in conflict zones.

The new technology builds on the Sagnac effect, using optical gyroscopes miniaturized to chip size – a feat that was previously thought impossible due to signal-to-noise ratio challenges.

The performance is impressive: these systems achieve 0.1% accuracy over 100km distances on land, while maintaining 3-4% accuracy in maritime applications.

The gyroscope-based systems work alongside GPS, with AI automatically switching to gyroscope navigation when #GPS interference is detected.

Potential applications range from autonomous tractors requiring precise navigation to firefighters needing reliable indoor navigation in smoke-filled buildings.

This technology represents a significant step forward in creating more resilient #navigation systems for an increasingly complex world.
