They have not perhaps considered that if they can unlock their vehicle remotely – and start (or stop) – its engine remotely, then someone else might be able to as well.
More than just might, in fact.
This just got confirmed (again) by Harness, a software company, that says it discovered a "flaw" in an (unnamed) automaker's "dealership portal" that "exposed the private information and vehicle data of its customers" that "could have allowed hackers to remotely break into any of its customers' vehicles."
