To Christians/believers in God -are you participating in idolatry of the state -waving the flag, displaying red/white/blue, pledging allegiance? For July 4, sharing a 2008 piece I wrote since many proclaiming "God" are vocal government worshipers.
Yabut, God tells us in the New Testament
of the Bible to bow down to Government, doesn't He? Just read Romans chapter
13.
Verse 1 (NIV) says: "Let everyone be subject
to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which
God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by
God."
And verse 6: "This is also why you pay
taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time
to governing."
And verse 8: "Let no debt remain outstanding,
except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others
has fulfilled the law." (Oops. Do you think it is Government messing up
here?)
FOLKS, YOU NEED
TO PUT THIS INTO PERSPECTIVE. 1. Through the vote, we are the Government.
2. Through the Constitution, Bill of Rights
and their Oath of Office, "they" are traitors.
Here is an example of what I mean, right
from the Bible.
The second half of Acts 17 talks about
Paul the Apostle in Athens, Greece. Paul finds himself in "a meeting of
the Areopagus," an Athenian forum where "All the Athenians and the foreigners
who lived there spent their time doing nothing but talking about and listening
to the latest ideas." Kinda like Freedom's Phoenix.
Talking about God in the Areopagus Paul
said: "From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit
the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact
places where they should live."
Now wait just a minute, here! When
I and my family wanted to move out to Arizona, we did the work... not God.
We found a place to live in AZ, found jobs, sold the old house, packed
up our stuff, and moved. WE DID IT... not God. Is Saint Paul mistaken?
Actually, God did our move. He did it by
lovingly agreeing with our desires and actions, and by letting the move
work out for us. If He hadn't done it, we would have never made it. The
whole deal would have fallen through.
It works the same way with Government.
We are the Government by our vote... and even by righteous activism. If
we let those dogs of Satan... the corrupt men and women in Government...
turn the whole nation against God and against our families, then we are
the ones who are responsible. Why? Because God will listen to us if only
we get up off our behinds and find out what God wants, what the Government
is really doing, and then do something about it!
What kind of an "exact" place do you want
that God should determine for you to live in? A dictatorial police state
with governing officials who lie worse than the movies? You'll get what
God gives you. But God will give you what you "ask" for, when you stand
up and cause it to happen.
