Great 3 part video produced to the NOFX song, The Decline. If you don't already know, NOFX is a political punk rock band. The video offers many great references illustrating why so much hate (or blowback) is directed at the US. After watching the video ask yourself, if we were in their position would we not react exactly the same?

Ron Paul gets interviewed by Aaron Task from Yahoo Finance.  Looks like the main stream media is starting to get it.  Ron Paul was right all along.  The interviewer seems perplexed that Ron Paul would give such seemingly simple answers to what the pundits have categorically determined that the public is too stupid to understand.   What most of these people do not understand is that the market is infinitely smarter than anyone of these politicians who in the end are only doing what is good for them and their friends.  The market is self correcting and when these politicians meddle in the system it prevents the system from correcting itself.  The long the system is not allowed to correct itself the greater the ultimate correction will be.  It is inevitable!

In a free market, demand is always a function of price: the higher the price, the lower the demand. What may surprise most politicians is that these rules apply equally to both prices and wages. When employers evaluate their labor and capital needs, cost is a primary factor. When the cost of hiring low-skilled workers moves higher, jobs are lost. Despite this, minimum wage hikes, like the one set to take effect later this month, are always seen as an act of governmental benevolence. Nothing could be further from the truth.

When confronted with a clogged drain, most of us will call several plumbers and hire the one who quotes us the lowest price. If all the quotes are too high, most of us will grab some Drano and a wrench, and have at it. Labor markets work the same way. Before bringing on another worker, an employer must be convinced that the added productivity will exceed the added cost (this includes not just wages, but all payroll taxes and other benefits.)

Cherry Hill-based Flying Fish Brewing Co. (motto: "Proudly Brewed in New Jersey: You Got a Problem with That?") has undertaken an ambitious project of releasing a special beer in honor of turnpike exits, one at a time.

A plan working  its way through the Senate would require individuals to purchase health care or be fined a minimum of $1,000 annually. The plan would be enforced by the IRS via the federal income tax system.   Government will of course send men with guns around to anyone who refuses to pay the fine. If individuals resist the men with guns, they will most likely be shot.   This is how government intends to make sure everyone has health insurance - at the end of the barrel of a gun...

For the first time since territorial days, rain will be free for the catching here, as more and more thirsty states part ways with one of the most entrenched codes of the West.   Precipitation, every last drop or flake, was assigned ownership from the moment it fell in many Western states, making scofflaws of people who scooped rainfall from their own gutters. In some instances, the rights to that water were assigned a century or more ago.
