Rights belong to individuals, not groups.

Property should be owned by people, not government.

All voluntary associations should be permissible — economic and social.

The government’s monetary role is to maintain the integrity of the monetary unit, not participate in fraud.

Government exists to protect liberty, not to redistribute wealth or to grant special privileges.

The lives and actions of people are their own responsibility, not the government’s.

Dollar-Meltdown-792666Charles Goyette

Conservative commentator Charles Goyette -named “Best Phoenix Talk Show Host” by the New Times and “Man of the Year” by his county Republican Party – recently caused a industry stir when he was fired for political heterodoxy. Refusing to toe the Clear Channel party line and support the war in Iraq, he was first transferred from his high-profile druve-time slot to an evening pigenhole, and then terminated by talk behemoth 550 KFYI fter his contract no longer protexted him.

Charles was quickly snapped up by maverick, eclectic news/talk 1100 KFNX during morning drive time. In May of this year he abandoned the Republican Party for the Libertarian Party, explaining that the Republicans had abandoned any pretense of principle.

In Charles Goyette’s soon to be released book, “The Dollar Meltdown,” he reveals the governmental errors that led to the current economic crisis and the bumpy road ahead. “The Dollar Meltdown” is a book about the financial future and what you can do about it. And you can do something! You don’t have to be a financial professional, expose yourself to risky leverage, or worry about every tick of the markets…  Once you understand the nature of the crisis you will discover that there are common-sense steps you can take now to protect yourself and your family and even to profit from the dollar meltdown!

In April 2009, Adam Kokesh supporters created a draft website to encourage Kokesh to run for United States Congress representing New Mexico’s 3rd congressional district. JP BIO STUDIO 3 Entertainment by Jordan Page

Jordan Page is a young singer/songwriter/guitarist who uses his music to promote a message of peace while educating and mobilizing resistance to tyranny and the erosion of American civil rights. He embodies the protesting spirit of past years that is so rare in music today. He believes that armed service is not the only way to serve one’s country. Armed with the truth in song, he has raised up his voice in opposition to extreme military foreign policies, the corruption of the Federal Reserve, subversion of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, torture of prisoners, warrantless domestic surveillance, and oppression perpetrated by globalist elements in government. His songs are often stirring, and always challenging.

Jordan was a featured performer at the historic Revolution March in DC in July 08, which featured Ron Paul, Naomi Wolf, and Adam Kokesh as speakers and was attended by more than 10,000 people from across the nation. This event was proof of the gathering strength of the Freedom Movement, and the need to bring its message to the American public.

A libertarian event where people are suggesting subsidies on the price of admission? As the M. Guru says" We are freakin doomed!".

I know some of the activists are not wealthy people, but it is important for everyone to know that the Freedom Summit rarely, if ever, earns a profit. It actually costs $250 per person to rent the hall, pay for the food, pay the speakers and their hotel/travel expenses, promote the event, etc.  The only way to make it cheaper would be to hold it in a much larger hall and sell 1,000-2,000 tickets (which would also increase venue and promotional costs). But then the attendees wouldn't get to schmooze with the speakers, the promoters (our friends Ernie, Donna & Marc) would have to take a much greater financial risk, and trust me, it would still need to cost at least $100-$150 per person to break even, assuming enough tickets were sold.

Is anyone else also tired of shelling out money for the next new disaster book, the next new disaster DVD, the next new online magazine subscription that will fix your life, the next new hand-crank flashlight-plus-water-filter shortwave radio with built-in first aid kit and free firestarter!  Hmmm.  Time for something different.

Today is the first I've looked to see how much the Freedom Summit costs. I'd assumed $50 or something close, didn't even bother to check because it sounded so fantastic. I promoted this event on every email list I belong to... but it's $249 PER PERSON.... that's $1,000 just for the registration for our party. Then add in another $400 for rooms (which we expected).... no way we can do this.

We're very disappointed. We hoped to meet hundreds of folks from AZ & around the country, introduce family members to some great Libertarian-minded folks, spend a weekend together, network like crazy.  We had no idea these Freedom Summits cost an arm & a leg.

I'm with you there Ed. Why can't we have a summit in a camp ground? Why not pot-luck? I'm really done with paying $3-500 to listen to people I listen to every week for years now.

This looks great - just like the last one I couldn't go to because of the $250 fee.

I'm broke because my money has been going towards FREEING MINDS and fighting the good fight.  I was broke when I came back from the R3VOLUTION MARCH!  and even with an inheritance since then I am back to square one and trying to drum up finds for airfare for the Delegates to the CC2009 (it starts next WEDNESDAY and I still don't have my reservations!)

It sure would be nice to see some well-off people subsidize this event for those of us unfortunates to be able to attend - I bet Von Kidd would like to attend as much as anyone.

I understand with an event like this you have to pay for everything - I'm not quibbling about that.  I'm just pointing out that a LOT of Patriots that have worked their tails off with very little to show for it will be standing outside wondering what Ron Paul and all the other distinguished guests are saying.

Probably with a sign in their hands...
