There are groups of years, like from 1974 to 1979, and 1985 to 1990, where, up in Pine/Strawberry, Arizona, snowfalls of 2 to 3 feet happen in less than a 24-hour period. Seems to me that in 1976 there was a 6-foot snowfall one day. It is wet, heavy snow. Roofs collapse, especially carport roofs. You shovel the snow off your roof before you work on the driveway. These snowfalls usually happen in the late winter or early spring. They can happen as late as April.
