"Zeitgeist: Moving Forward" - Global Release Coordinator for over 335 world-wide venues that the film is screening in 30 languages across 60 countries. Political movement: A political
movement aims to convince citizens and/or government officers to take action on
the issues and concerns which are the focus of the movement.
We do not wish to convince. We wish
to demonstrate.
Anarchism: Anarchism is a political
philosophy which considers the state undesirable, unnecessary, and harmful, and
instead promotes a stateless society, or anarchy. It seeks to diminish or even abolish
authority in the conduct of human relations.
Scientific method: Scientific method
refers to a body of techniques for investigating phenomena, acquiring new
knowledge, or correcting and integrating previous knowledge. To be termed
scientific, a method of inquiry must be based on gathering observable,
empirical and measurable evidence subject to specific principles of reasoning.
Technology: Technology is the usage
and knowledge of tools, techniques, crafts, systems or methods of organization
in order to solve a problem or create an artistic perspective.
The zeitgeist movement aims to use
technology and the scientific method to restore human beings to a sustainable
homeostasis with our environment.
Our only model of homeostatic sustainability
is nature herself. Infinite diversity characterizes nature, not "survival
of the fittest species over another species". A governing species is scientifically proven
to be self destructive and destructive to the whole.
We accept that man is neither good
nor evil, and we do not recommend these metaphors at all. Upon close
examination we are symbiotic with the entire planet. We propose to use
technology and abiding by the scientific method, restore man to anarchism,
which is the closest political philosophy to describe our natural homeostatic
sustainable condition.
We factually state that the most rigorous
honesty and scientific integrity logically arrive at these conclusions. We
propose the course of action is to use technology to create conditions which
most resemble thriving harmonious environments, always respecting factual
limits. Scientific observation of natural limits have definitively proven that
what is bad for the individual is bad for its environment, what is good for the
individual is good for the environment. The explanation for the existence of
unnatural conflict is a human psychology of culturally inherited thinking,
values and resulting behaviors that are inconsistent with observable scientific
laws. By applying intelligent design to our environment we will necessarily
restore human social behavior indirectly through causality. Nature does not
need controls. Humans are a symbiotic part and parcel of nature. The belief
than man is bad IS the pathology and applying technology on ourselves to cure
what doesn’t need a cure IS the pathology we are suffering. The earth does not
need technology to support herself. This is fact. Social power, status, and
authority have functioned under a mythological paradigm which believes
incorrectly that humans need authority because we are not good. This is
factually incorrect and is the source of our pathological self destruction. We
are neutral, just like nature. We shall
restore our environment and respect its limits by realizing they cannot be
broken without killing ourselves. Because we are symbiotic with our environment
over time humans will necessarily be restored to sanity. Technology is used for
enlightened endeavors only. Efforts to use technology without respect to
natural limits shall continue to prove self destructive by fact.
TZM is not associated with politics
Anarchism is an approximate body of
political and philosophical thought that scientifically resembles how nature
actually exists.
TZM is not associated with any
religion.
An approximate historical body of
spiritual/religion traditions and mythology resembling observable scientific
limits is taoism.
TZM aims to be associated with nothing,
while acknowledging it is a connected body of thought.
TZM is temporary as natural healthy conditions
are restored it will no longer been needed. We only need respect for natural
fact and this is achieved by the scientific method.

I am a coordinator for the South Dakota chapter of The Zeitgeist Movement. As I came from the freedom-movement - and am a voluntaryist - I know how to answer the questions that are asked by libertarians about TZM.
The Zeitgeist Movement and The Venus Project advocate for a purely voluntary society. These ideas for a new economic system are only possible as long as people choose them and voluntarily implement them. We advocate for no hierarchy, no coercion, no force, no government, no elite class - nothing of the sort.
If some people wanted a resource-based economy and began this transition, but others did not want this - these others would be free to live a life of their choosing. This is a big planet, and there is plenty of room for everyone.
However, a RBE would only be effective on a global scale, because if there are other nations, government, military, etc., they would inevitably attack an unarmed resource-based society, or prevent sharing of resources.
The difference between TVP ideas, and the freedom-movement, are merely how to implement the most prosperous, peaceful and free society possible. TVP illustrates a scientific approach to creating abundance of prosperity for everyone, which would necessarily render the monetary/market system obsolete.
Our current state of technology makes such a system possible. The only real obstacle to implementing it is convincing people to understand how it would work, so that they may realize for themselves that this is possible - but all new and radical ideas are always met with opposition by those who are attached to the old paradigm.
In a resource-based economy, all 'work' would be voluntary, and minimal. No one would be forced to do anything, but out of their personal interests to better their lives and the world would contribute based on voluntary contribution only.
Remember, no government, no military, no police, no politicians, no class system, no hierarchy. The Venus Project is a 100% purely voluntary society.
The goal of libertarians is to convince people that freedom is the way; the goal of TZM is to convince people that a resource-based economy is the way to freedom.
