Windows XP will stop being available on new PCs from the end of January 2008. Microsoft is keeping to a plan to stop selling the operating system even though surveys show a lukewarm response of Windows Vista among consumers.
Thank god I finally made the switch to LINUX. . No licenses. Open source. EVERYTHING IS FREE! I feel like a chain has been removed from around my neck. It great to not be a MICRO SERF any longer. And the big big plus - NO BACK DOORS and Awesome security. Ok not everything is available, I have to learn some new stuff. The Linux community rocks I couldn't be happier! My friend Seth set me up and his email is srf at hush.ai

I'm sure XP will be discontinued for sale to the public by the end of 2008. But, I doubt Microsoft will be able to cease sales of licenses to commercial accounts, who are less enamored with Vista's requirements.
