El Monte officers "are trained to deliver a distraction blow to stop a [suspect] doing what they planning on doing," he said. "Officers are only allowed to use this maneuver after completion of our intense mind reading training," he continued.

I think that shooting a full clip of 9mm at point blank range into the suspects head would be a better "Distracting Blow" than simply kicking him. Come on ! if you going to do something as stupid and illegal as this go for the gold! I have to hand it to this cops lawyer for coming up with this defense. He is either an idiot or a genius ! I can't for the life of me see how he can possibly say that with a straight face and expect anyone on earth to believe it. When you are desperate you will come up with the most asinine excuses possible. He will never live this down, this will be a classic. This is absolutely the most ridiculous defense for police brutality I think that I will ever hear in my entire life time. This lawyer should be put in jail for saying it or be given the chutzpah metal of honor in the chutzpah hall of fame. Thanks for the laugh you have made my day.
