A white former transit officer was convicted of involuntary
manslaughter Thursday in the videotaped shooting death of an unarmed
black man on an Oakland train platform in an encounter that set off
days of rioting in the city.
I sure would like to know what reason the jury was given to believe that made the officer 'involunarily' PULL THE TRIGGER OF THE GUN THAT SHOT THE YOUTH IN THE BACK WHO WAS FACE DOWN ON THE PLATFORM, KILLING HIM? Did someone bump into him, causing the gun to go off? Was there a loud noise and spooked the officer, making him 'involuntarily' squeeze the trigger? Did his finger 'itch' at that specific second? Unless these questions can be answered satisfactorily, THERE IS A BIG PROBLEM WITH THIS STORY.
