President Obama: We must seek agreement on gun reforms

 Why is nothing mentioned about that maniacs mother ?  She held a high position in the local city government in Tuscon and used her political clout to get her son out of various jams. He was arrested multiple times for different charges which included aggravated assault, simple assualt, drug possession, and such. He would have had a record for violent crime and would have been restricted from purchasing a firearm of any kind. Because of his mother however, he was able to buy a handgun. She used her political clout to have his records exponged and swipped clean. Now if she hadn't done that, he wouldn't be able to buy a gun, and maybe that day wouldn't have taken place. He probably would have bought an illegal firearm but that would have no repercussions on law abiding gunshop owners.  In the wake of this tragedy why wasn't his mother prosecuted for obstuction of justice and other crimes ?  See the media only wants to print the stuff that makes guns, the 2nd amendment, and law abiding citizens look bad.  They are part of the secular, progressive, liberal machine that is trying to drive this country into Socialism !  The govt. is purposly driving down the stock market and increasing the debt so they can install Socialism upon all of us saying that will save our economy !  We must stand and act now !  We must stick together and fight back against all Liberalism and Socialism. When Occupy USA goes to a rally, we should be right there counter protesting !!  Stop being passive and saying this is just politics as usual because it's not ! There's a bigger agenda here and that agenda is to Unify us with the U.N., install a world government, install world wide gun control, and take all our liberties and freedom away !  Stand up, act now, fight back !  They can have my guns when they pry them from my cold, dead hand !!

In an op-ed essay in The Arizona Daily Star, Obama says legislation to bolster criminal background checks for gun buyers hasn't been properly implemented, with too many states providing "incomplete and inadequate" information.

He suggested rewarding states that provide the most comprehensive information to the criminal background database.

"We should make the system faster and nimbler," the president added. "We should provide an instant, accurate, comprehensive and consistent system for background checks to sellers who want to do the right thing, and make sure that criminals can't escape it."
