Congressman Warns: 'Those Who Can, Should Move Their Families Out of the City'

From a hyperinflationary economic collapse to an electro magnetic pulse originating from the sun or a nuclear weapon , there exists a real and present danger that our system may, in the near future, experience unrecoverable shocks to the power grid and clean water infrastructure, a halt to just-in-time agricultural transportation systems and a collapse of the currency exchange mechanisms that make the economy function.
US Representative Roscoe Bartlett (R-MD), lived through the great depression, so he’s seen how bad things can get. In a new documentary, Mr. Bartlett and others discuss the dangers posed to those living in cities and ways that your family can survive if the worst were to ever happen.

There are a number of events that could create a situation in the cities where civil unrest would be a very high probability. And, I think that those who can, and those who understand, need to take advantage of the opportunity when these winds of strife are not blowing to move their families out of the city.

I don't think you can make a blanket statement that moving out of a city to the country will protect you in case of civil unrest. Lots of rural counties have Nazi sheriff departments, and mobs can move around. Probably lots of factors come into play, many you can have no control over. When it hits the fan, you may want to be ready to move WAY out in the boonies, not just to your hobby farm fifty miles away from some urban center. I am not sure some small town will be much better than the suburbs. The cities will go up in flames first, but the cancer will spread fast.
The people in cities are less vulnerable then those is suburbs to really large change. I live in apartment built in the 1800s there are fireplaces, water is delivered old school, food would be a problem until all the little gardens got going and in the meantime there are the pigeons. Relax. Life will go on and most likely there won't be any big noisy change. I have been hearing that some horrible thing will happen all my life and so far nothing. Really Vietnam, Iraq, Afganistan 911 all distant thunder. As the towers were smoking downtown we were eating in sidewalk cafes uptown. We were upset but life went on. That's the way it really is. Relax, life is short, have some fun and stop wasting people's time with nonsense.
Was John Titor right? They came for my neighbors and would not explain why.....It became a case of "security" in the city, or self survival in the country.
