Former cop pressured to keep quiet about training officer's misconduct

After rookie Portland Officer Lindsay Hunt reported alleged misconduct by her field training officer, Hunt says supervisors and other training officers told her to look the other way until after she completed probation.

She faced threats of being fired and not getting backup from fellow officers, her lawyer Dennis Steinman told jurors on the opening day of her federal whistleblower suit against the City of Portland.

It would be interesting to know the "chain of instruction."

It seems that certain of the police get their job mostly for the purpose of following mob-like instructions from higher-ups, to intimidate other officers into silence. This way the whole department can become a method for criminal activity.

Elliot Ness would roll over in his grave. The police-control chain-of-instruction probably goes high into the Federal Government.
