In a recent issue of Food Chemical News, USDA secretary Tom Vilsack laid out a set of instructions to his department’s new Advisory Committee on Biotechnology and 21st Century Agriculture. Vilsack told the committee to come up with a plan to compensate organic farmers whose crops had become contaminated with genetically modified genes due to pollen drift.
