Why Las Vegas is dying

Las Vegas was started by a gangster and may be killed by the government...or at least government inaction. The negative economic forces that have converged on the desert play land of casinos and sin are like the proverbial perfect storm. Meanwhile, the state and federal government is mostly throwing up its collective hands helplessly while the actions they are trying to take is reminiscent of blind mice trying to navigate their way through a maze. While it's true that economic disaster zones dot the country, none is worse than Las Vegas. Still reeling from the real estate collapse, Las Vegas may take decades to recover—if it it ever does recover.
