First, you should know that Morrissey was not appointed. The Governor selected another interviewee. Second, the Governor had no hand whatsoever in the selection of Morrissey for the interview list. That choice was made by the sixteen member Commission on Trial Court Appointments who reviewed all the applications and interviewed a subset of them in public meetings. The Governor must select from the lists created by the Commission so it is unfair to criticize her for the inclusion of someone on the list.
