The law firm of Marc J. Victor, P.C. has been retained to represent Ms. Laney Sweet and her two children, ages 4 and 6, in a wrongful death claim against the City of Mesa for a shooting incident occurring on January 18, 2016, at the La Quinta Inn in Mesa. Mesa Police were initially summoned to investigate an unspecified report of a man with a rifle. After opening his hotel room door in response to Mesa Police, Daniel Shaver was shot and killed by Mesa Police despite being unarmed at the time. Mr. Shaver is survived by his wife and two young children.
