A man has cut his commute down from an hour and a half of travel to just 15 minutes after he started riding a jet ski to his job in New York City

David Pike currently lives in Jersey City, New Jersey but works in Brooklyn, New York for his job — which made his commute an astounding hour and a half long because he had to trek through Manhattan first.

This encouraged David to get innovative in finding another way to commute to work, and he now makes the trip in a jet ski across the New York Harbor.

'My company, New York Trolley, is in Brooklyn, and every day it would take me 90 minutes,' David told Good Morning America.

'I'd have to take the bus to the subway to the PATH to another bus and all the while I'm just looking across the harbor like, "I just need to go there, how can I do it?"'

Though Jersey City is quite close to Brooklyn, traveling via public transportation takes a circuitous route that includes several trains and buses. Even driving can take a while, and most people who live and work in New York don't have cars due to congestion and the price of parking.
