Enemies of the Deep State: The Government's War on Domestic Terrorism Is a Trap

• https://www.lewrockwell.com by John W Whitehead

Religious extremists, are we talking about Christians, evangelical Christians, what is a religious extremist? Is it somebody who is pro-life? [The proposed legislation could create] a very dangerous undermining of our civil liberties, our freedoms in our Constitution, and a targeting of almost half of the country."—Tulsi Gabbard, former Congresswoman

This is how it begins.

We are moving fast down that slippery slope to an authoritarian society in which the only opinions, ideas and speech expressed are the ones permitted by the government and its corporate cohorts.

In the wake of the Jan. 6 riots at the Capitol, "domestic terrorism" has become the new poster child for expanding the government's powers at the expense of civil liberties.

Of course, "domestic terrorist" is just the latest bull's eye phrase, to be used interchangeably with "anti-government," "extremist" and "terrorist," to describe anyone who might fall somewhere on a very broad spectrum of viewpoints that could be considered "dangerous."

Here’s a brief deep dive… Me, being an anarchist/voluntaryist, I cringe that I should feel a need to say/write this. Before there was a 'deep state' there was the 'shadow government'. Analogous to prior to climate change was global warming, and before that it was global cooling. It's all slight of hand. Mincing words. Deep state, shadow government etc. Government is organized crime. 'Drain the swamp' is slight of hand. For if the swamp was drained, there is still a dry swamp awaiting to be refilled. Unless... unless you go all the way, and eliminate the swamp. That is, abolish government and... NOT replace it with a different government. What!? Abolish government!? I hear you say that I must be a crazy person. Okay, then I’ll say, “abolish organized crime.” But I’m merely repeating myself. Continued below...

Voltaire wrote, “If you wish to converse with me, define your terms.” That I will do for the word government. Etymology of government. Derived from the Latin verb Guverno, Guvernare – meaning, “to control”. And, the Latin noun Mens, Mentis – meaning, “mind”. To control the mind. Continued below...

Of the several people I have seen explain the etymology of “government” = to control the mind, all of them equate that with external mind control. There is nothing in the etymology that says to control the mind is exclusively external. For mind control can be the individual controlling his/her own mind. Thus, internal mind control. By our very nature, each individual is self governing. It’s called choice. Freedom of choice, freedom of association, freedom of movement and etc. That external government is organized crime, and how we got into this mess, I like the way Bret Vernot, of the School Sucks podcast explains it… "What’s the difference between the government and the mafia? The mafia doesn’t have a twelve year indoctrination system to convince you it’s not organized crime." Continued below...

External “government” oppresses freedom of choice, freedom of association, freedom of movement. And, almost by default, causes the individual to suppress his/her own thinking. Who ever thinks of government as being internal self-governing mind control? Almost no one. Continued below...

I shall end this communiqué with three quotes: “Resolve to serve no more, and you are at once freed. I do not ask that you place hands upon the tyrant to topple him over, but simply that you support him no longer; then you will behold him, like a great Colossus whose pedestal has been pulled away, fall of his own weight and break in pieces.” ~ Étienne de La Boétie… “The most potent weapon of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed.”~  Steven Biko… “It's impossible to defeat an enemy who has an outpost in your head.” ~ Sally Kempton
