Woke pledge replaces Hippocratic oath:

Incoming medical students at the University of Minnesota were forced to give a pledge vowing to 'honor all Indigenous ways of healing,' including those that have been 'historically marginalized by Western medicine.'

The students also pledged to fight 'white supremacy, colonialism [and] the gender binary' at the school's white coat ceremony on August 19.

In a video from the ceremony, Dr Robert Englander — the associate dean for undergraduate education — could be heard reading the pledge to the new students, donning their new doctor's coats.

It has been criticized by renowned critical race theory opponent Christopher Rufo, who tweeted out the video on Tuesday.

He then wrote on Wednesday: 'The most incredible thing about this clip is that the doctor almost certainly doesn't believe in what he's saying.

'But he submits anyway—because the institutional powers now require otherwise intelligent people to falsify their own beliefs and repeat the left-wing copypasta.'

In the video, Englander notes the campus is located on Dakota land and many Native Americans continue to live in the area.

But, he said, 'this acknowledgement is not enough,' before saying they must 'recognize inequities built by past and present traumas rooted in white supremacy, colonialism, the gender binary, ableism and all forms of oppression.
