In general, a police officer is a good guy (or gal). He starts turning bad when he is put into a position where he has to evaluate the greater good over a tad of corruption. As time goes on, the tad seems to get larger. Finally he is open to accepting all kinds of corruption. Those police officers who are not of strong moral character actually become openly corrupt.

We need to do several things.
1. Get to know and become friends with our police officers.
2. Encourage them every chance we get.
3. Do the same with out local Government officials, especially the ones with direct authority over the police.
4. Start wearing guns. The police weren't meant to handle it all for us... especially their own emotional instability when one of their own turns bad.
