Obama: “I Don’t Believe People Should Be Able To Own Guns”

•, Joe Newby
On Friday, gun rights advocate John Lott told radio talk show host Laura Ingraham that Barack Obama once told him that people should not be able to own guns.

According to Lott, Obama made the statement the first time the two met.

“He said to me, ‘I don’t believe people should be able to own guns,’” he recalled.

Lott said he offered to meet with him over lunch to discuss the issue.

“But he just wrinkled his face and turned around and walked away. And that was the end of our first conversation on that,” he said.

Ingraham asked Lott to verify that Obama said “people,” and not just “criminals.”

Lott said Obama was “very clear” in his statement.

“He said, ‘I don’t believe people should be able to own guns,’” he reiterated.

Lott said that he had told the New York Times about the incident in 2008.

“But they never used it in their story on him with regard to his time in Chicago,” he added.

Thankfully, the people that want guns already have them and enough ammo to take down a large army coming against them. They also have already done what is needed to keep those arms from being taken away from them. If B. O. thinks he can change that, I just hope that I can still be around to witness what happens to those that try to disarm the American public.

Perhaps it would be good if there simply were no guns... if there were no way that any armament larger than handguns could exist... if there were no knowledge of how to build guns and no way of obtaining that knowledge.

Realistically, as long as there is knowledge and inventing, there are going to be guns. It doesn't matter who owns them - or who says that they own them. What matters is who has them in their hands.

Do you want freedom? So does the next person. And some of the next persons will want guns. If there is freedom, they will have guns. Get used to it, and get yourself a gun.
