Plastics - the common household kind - do not break down and re-enter nature in a green way for hundreds or thousands of years. Until we get rid of making plastics, green is a complete farce. And since the backbone of modern worldwide life is plastics (to say nothing about the oil industry), forget green. Anything you do that helps green is nothing compared with all green destruction caused by plastic.
