The Wall Street Journal reports More Than 40% of Student Borrowers Aren't Making Payments.
More than 40% of Americans who borrowed from the government's main student-loan program aren't making payments or are behind on more than $200 billion owed, raising worries that millions of them may never repay.
While most have since left school and joined the workforce, 43% of the roughly 22 million Americans with federal student loans weren't making payments as of Jan. 1, according to a quarterly snapshot of the Education Department's $1.2 trillion student-loan portfolio.

The title of this topic in FP is a major part of the reason why sheeple remain asleep. Bluntly:

Here is a major starting point for your thinking if you want to start waking up. The Department of Education doesn't wonder anything. The Department of Education is words on paper. Words on paper don't wonder; they don't think; they don't do anything. Only people do something.
If the things that people do harm you or your property, sue all the $$$ out of them that you can get so that they will leave you alone. If they are government people, start looking into how you can take their bond.
As government people, they are your servants. You are the king/queen. You have rights; they only have duties and privileges. And among everything that they are instructed or allowed to do in their Governmental capacity, is nothing that can harm you. If they harm you, they are acting outside of Government. Sue them.
Of course, once people start waking up to this, FP will lose half of its reason to write anything anymore.
