HYPER-POPULATION GROWTH: UNACKNOWLEDGED in WORLD FOOD CRISIS TALKS

Most Americans cannot grasp the fact that human starvation rages across the planet.  Every year, according to the World Health Organization, 18 million human beings die of starvation or starvation related diseases. Even more sobering, the numbers include eight million adults and 10 million children under 12 years of age.

David Simcox, www.npg.org , senior advisor said, “Continuing world population growth was a huge but unacknowledged elephant in the conference hall at the June 2008 “UN-Food and Agricultural Organization Summit” in Rome, Italy. Only a handful of the 200 heads of government even mentioned population growth in their presentations on the world’s exploding demand for food and rapidly rising prices.”

Ironically, the Club of Rome, wrote “Limits to Growth” in 1972.  Later top scientist made the following statement in 1992:

“Pressures resulting from unrestrained population growth put demands on the natural world that can overwhelm any efforts to achieve a sustainable future. If we are to halt the destruction of our environment, we must accept limits to that growth.”

World scientists’ warning to humanity, signed by 1600 senior scientists from 70 countries including 102 Nobel Prize laureates, November 18, 1992

“We are finally hearing the scream of the earth!”

“The conference quickly became another ‘North-South’ face-off,” Simcox said. “More than a few third world nations blamed farm subsidies in the rich countries for the decline of their agriculture.”

Meanwhile, who invoked the universal taboo maintaining ‘silence at all costs’ concerning hyper-population growth? Why won’t any leaders around the world mention a peep about accelerating consequences?  When will someone stand up to speak out against the human race adding one billion members every 13 years?  How can humanity avoid the inevitable?

“Population and family planning went unnoticed throughout the conference,” Simcox said.  “Clearly, population—or at least openly talking about it—has lost its once high priority in the UN and the broader international community.”

Yet, human population projections expect a jump from 6.7 billion  www.populationmedia.org to 9.2 billion low to a high of 9.8 billion.  If humanity suffers 18 million deaths annually in 2009, how far will death rates leap in 40 years?   How about the death of the planet via destructive nature of humans on ecosystems?

“Specific goals such as fertility reduction and lowered population growth rates, or any incentives deemed ‘coercive’ have since fallen out of favor,” Simcox said. “The phrase ‘family planning’ became suspect. In this climate, neither population stabilization nor family planning are mentioned by name in the UN’s 2000 statement on Millennium Development Goals.”

Therefore, denial in 2009 appears to be humanity’s most comfortable stance.  Meanwhile, adding 77 million humans annually provides an excruciatingly sobering picture for the future via food, energy, water shortages, global pollution, quality of life and future prospects for humanity on planet Earth.

“The raging monster upon the land is population growth.  In its presence, sustainability is but a fragile theoretical construct. To say, as many do, that the difficulties of nations are not due to people but to poor ideology and land-use management is sophistic.”

Harvard scholar and biologist E.O. Wilson

In the USA, the projected 100 million people added by 2035 creates similar scenarios now witnessed around the world.  Whether denial, ignorance or sheer stupidity, this planet will not allow humanity further dalliance from reality.

Roy Beck gives a graphic presentation of our fate if we continue to allow legal and illegal immigration to swamp this country. If you have children, you will be particular unnerved at their fate. I know Roy Beck personally and his integrity and knowledge stand at the top. Pass this web site 14 minute video far and wide across America to educate everyone you know. We either stop this human tsunami or the future of this country will be much like Rome's. We must, as a nation and a civilization, move to secure our country from this massive, unrelenting population overload from a line that never ends. This will be the most compelling 14 minute video of your life.

Bob Woodruff of ABC asked input from all citizens concerning the future of our planet.  Go to www.earth2100.tv for a sobering reality check as to what we face and to what I have been writing about for the past 20 years.  Our ‘window’ to change to a balanced population and non-polluting energy diminishes every day we listen to irresponsible media and thus ignore the blatant symptoms manifesting all over America and the planet.

This three minute interview with Adam Schrager on “Your Show” May 4, 2008, NBC Channel 9 News, addresses the ramifications of adding 120 million people to USA in 35 years and six million people to Colorado as to water shortages, air pollution, loss of farmland, energy costs and degradation of quality of life.  In the interview, Frosty Wooldridge explains the ramifications of adding 120 million people to the USA in 35 years. He advances new concepts such as a “Colorado Carrying Capacity Policy”; “Colorado Environmental Impact Policy”; “Colorado Water Usage Policy”; “Colorado Sustainable Population Policy”.  Nationally, the USA needs a "National Sustainable Population Policy" to determine the carrying capacity of this nation for the short and long term.  Wooldridge is available for interviews on radio and TV having interviewed on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and FOX.

Just what we need, another Paul R. Ehrlich to predict doom and gloom that never happens. You forget the power of the human mind to deal with scarcity. Even with more specialization, more people may be needed to provide the means to dedicate enough people to colonize other planets before Earth is no longer habitable.

However you want to look at it, what starvation around the world really is...

It is powerful evil people for political and domination reasons keeping food from those who are starving. The planet has plenty of room to supply the world with food, easily, if we all worked together to make it happen.

The only thing keeping it from happening is global politicians and conquerors causing strife among people rather than alleviating it. THESE ARE THE SAME GLOBAL POLITICIANS AND CONQUERS WHO ARE ASKING US, THE WELL-FED, TO GIVE OUR MONEY TO THEM SO THAT THEY CAN FEED THE STARVING NATIONS.

Such is a Benefactor.
