Mary Coyle: Arizona Landmark Closing Because Business Is Off 30 to 40%

Mary Coyle Ol' Fashion Ice Cream and Yogurt parlor, one of Phoenix's oldest restaurant landmarks, may close before summer. Owner Bob Kelly said a tough economy has hurt the 60-year-old business. He expects to close - or sell - the business by May 31. "It's the economy. The prices on everything have gone up. We're at the bottom of the eighth," Kelly said, adding that sales have dropped 30 to 40 percent overall. He and his parents Tom and Ann Kelly are hoping someone will buy the business before they close so the Phoenix tradition can continue.
