While I yield to no man in my admiration for Neil Armstrong and Edward Aldrin, the space pioneers I really want to meet are Mike Melvill and Brian Binnie.
In
August 2004, Mr. Melvill piloted the first privately constructed
spacecraft, Burt Rutan's SpaceShipOne; Binnie was at the controls on
the second flight less than a week later, thereby earning the "X-Prize"
for Rutan's company, Scaled Composites.

Anti-Tea Party Correspondent's Contract Not Renewed by CNN

The last time we saw CNN correspondent Susan Roesgen, she was arguing with folks at the April 15 Tea Party in Chicago claiming the event was "anti-government, anti-CNN [and] highly promoted by the right-wing conservative network Fox."
Although CNN officials won't blame the decision specifically on this event, the network has decided not to renew her contract.

China’s premier diplomat Hillary Clinton *likened North Korea to a child in need of attention in yet another sugar coated response to China’s ally. In spite of the fact North Korea threatened nuclear war, aimed rockets at sovereign US soil and holds hostage two American girls she continues to pussy foot and coddles anything China. It is more than obvious she has a second agenda with China and has no business being secretary of anything.
It should have been more than clear she was useless and failed dismally in Indonesia when she could not muster a meeting with the leadership of the Muslim people, her primary mission. Her statement pitting the concerns for human rights in Asia on the ignore list while placing economics above all else should have been a red flag. Her diplomatic failures far outweigh her usefulness yet the media continues to promote her and anything Obama. Facts are marred with endless lines of rhetoric and bold faced lies proving ‘Big Brother’ and double speak prevail

Senator Vitter on Failing Climate Bill

This piece of curious legislation is on its way to a natural death. I have no doubt it was meant to fail but to provide a fig leaf of cover for those politicians wanting to maintain green credentials.
The real climate bill will be the one that establishes a national power grid combined with an aggressive power plant build out with windmills and geothermal and solar. It will even generate major employment while it replaces our rolling stock with electric vehicles.
